The brief
Masjid Fathima at Perinthalmanna needed a full institutional electrical installation for the prayer hall, ablution area, minaret and the surrounding compound. The load profile is unlike a commercial building: long banks of fans and lights that switch on together five times a day, a public address system that must stay clean and hum-free, and exterior lighting that has to hold up through the monsoon.
What we did
- Wired the prayer hall in switched zones, so fans and lighting can be brought up section by section as the hall fills, rather than the whole load hitting at once
- Ran the fan and light circuits on separate feeders with regulator control, balanced across the three phases to keep the load even
- Provided a dedicated, clean supply and separate earthing for the PA/amplifier system to keep induced hum out of the audio
- Installed minaret and facade lighting with weatherproof IP-rated fittings, timer control and properly glanded cable runs
- Wired the ablution area and toilet block with RCBO protection on all wet-area circuits, and separate circuits for the water pump and overhead tank
- Installed the main distribution board and sub-DBs with proper circuit segregation, and executed earthing pits tested and maintained within limits
Outcome
Installed, tested, and handed over with a complete documentation file for KSEB and the Electrical Inspectorate.
